It is easy to use and lightweight compared to other dslr\'s. I feel I made a wise purchase and would recommend this camera to anyone on a tight budget but looking for a real dslr.     "The title says it all. Very easy to use from the moment you unpack it. Get a lens UV filter/protector and a LCD screen protector (the GGS DSLR LCD Optical Glass Screen Protector for Nikon D90 works great for me - I coulnd\'t find a 3\" LCD screen protector for the D3000) . Protect your precious investment. Go out there and enjoy the wonderful colors. Trash that point-and-shoot camera already! "

    "I bought my D3000 on Friday and took it to the mountains over the weekend. This is my first ever SLR, I upgraded from a simple point and shoot. I could not believe how easy this camera is to use. It took fabulous pictures right out of the box. I do still have alot to learn about all the features and settings, but you don\'t need to have an knowledge about SLR cameras to take gorgeous photos with this camera! "
