"i bought nikon s550 to replace my HP Mz67, which I was very disappointed with. This camera is 10 Megapixels, and the quality of the pictures reflects it's high pixel count. The otpical zoom is adequate, and with 10 megapixels, the digital zoom actually produces quality photos. The best feature of all is the image stabilization. With the HP, this feature was nonexistent and the biggest problem with the camera. On the Nikon, this feature works wonders. I love this camera and highly recommend it. It's easy to use, produces quality pics and has a great feature set."

"I purchased the Nikon Coolpix s550 a few days before a vacation trip, so did not have time to read the manual. It takes great pictures. I tried a few of moving objects at a distance just for fun and they come out very clear. I highly recommend this camera.

I read several reviews and found many of them very helpful. I do not think the "ISO noise" is valid for a regular joe photographer also battery loading difficulty is not valid battery loads easy and charges quickly.

This is a great little camera, the battery lasts a long time between charges & with a 4 gig SD (add separately) it holds a buttload of pictures. I like it & in fact it fits so well in my pocket I have taken it with me the last few days of a trade show - got some pics I would not have gotten with a bulkier camera because I would not have wanted to lug a big camera.

I own a Nikon SLR film camera, which looks and performs like a star. The camera looks like a piece of art and when you hold it, you feel like holding an engineering marvel. No such feelings with Coolpix S550 even with its impressive statistics. It looks cheap with its cheesy power and shutter buttons. But beyond the looks, it is a well performing camera. It powers up and is ready to use in about 2 seconds, takes great pictures and is very compact. I am not a photography expert, so I will not go into that arena. Overall, I rate this at 2 for look and feel and 5 for its performance."

"nikon s550 is very easy to use and easy to handle ..u can just put this into your pocket ..n roam around.
Its picture quality is superb .. I would say its best ..while purchashing it I have some doubt in my mind. But now I realize that I have taken a right decision.
